Our tutors and staff in Everett consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Everett know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

King Dawidalle
Tutor
King Dawidalle went to Whitworth University and earned his bachelor’s in English with a minor in music. He has worked as an English tutor at several centers, including Best in Class and Huntington. King was also an Avid tutor for the Shoreline School district. In addition to teaching English at Sylvan of Everett, he teaches jazz bass privately and is building his career as a solo artist.
Laina Hall
Tutor
Laina has been part of the tutoring team at the Everett Sylvan Learning Center since 2003. She teaches all levels of Reading. In addition, Laina is a skilled tutor in Writing, Math, SAT/ACT Prep, Homework Support and Study Skills. She also currently works at Jefferson Elementary School in a Developmental Kindergarten class! She excels at helping students find the fun in learning. Laina grew up in Paradise, California, and is the only sister to four younger brothers. She attended both Ricks College and BYU. In her spare time, she enjoys sewing, making cards and scrapbooking.
Kathy Huffaker
Tutor
Kathy is a University of Portland graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a minor in Journalism. As a mom of three girls, Kathy has been involved in education first as a parent volunteer, then as a paraeducator in the Everett School District, and finally for the past nine years in a private preschool setting as an assistant, and eventually lead teacher. She joined Sylvan of Everett as a Reading tutor.
Corina Welcker
Tutor
Corina is a proud Washington State native with three years of experience as a high school English teacher, also teaching various secondary elective classes. She has experience as a substitute teacher and in paraeducator positions where she worked with students one-on-one and in small groups. It’s her joy to build relationships with students and help them succeed.
