Brehana Fregoso

Executive Director/Franchisee

As Franchisee and Director, Brehana leads the day to day operations and family conferences for Sylvan of Bellingham. Before working at Sylvan,  Brehana worked as a College Admissions Representative for Azusa Pacific University and also spent time as an English Teacher in Seoul, South Korea for two summers.  She chose a career at Sylvan because she is passionate about seeing her students reach their educational goals and loves being a part of that process.   Brehana obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Azusa Pacific University.  Working at Sylvan combines Brehana’s love for people and love for education.  When she isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find Brehana loving on her three kids!

Danielle Garner

Center Director

Danielle Garner currently holds a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from the Julliard School and a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance with a minor in History and Political Science from Washington State University. She found her love for teaching while working as a director with local children’s theaters and coaching sports! Danielle has taught for 6 years as a K-12 teacher in our area, both as a substitute and as a full-time teacher! Danielle also recently got her Ph.D. in Music. When she is not at the Center, she can be found singing, racing hydroplanes around the country, or going on adventures around the PNW with her boyfriend.

Cameron Mendoza

Lead Teacher/Admin

Cameron is a teacher at Sylvan Learning Center of Bellingham, WA who is passionate about helping students become lifelong learners and nurturing a growth mindset in her students. While she loves working with students in many subjects, she especially loves helping students find joy and confidence in reading! She has a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Western Washington University and received a teaching certification in English Language Arts from the Woodring College of Education. Outside of teaching, you can find Cameron at the library or spending time with her two cats.

Mike Andrews

Teacher

Mike Andrews was born and raised in Bellingham, WA.  He has wanted to be an educator since elementary school, frequently providing his class with lessons on mythology and history to share his interests and inspire others to learn. He received his Bachelors in History degree at Western Washington university in 2016. Having had the privilege to study abroad in Prague, Czechia during that time, he later returned with his wife to teach full-time history and English language classes in Prague from 2019-2020. Currently, Mike is working on attaining his Masters in teaching. Mike loves to play video games, watch sci-fi films, or spend the day with his wife and two cats!

Greg Hays

Teacher

Greg is a recent transplant to the Bellingham community.  He has a knack for working with all types and abilities of students to help them reach their highest potential. Greg feels he has the greatest impact and excitement when helping students with the subject of math. Greg attended Mississippi State University, obtaining a degree in electrical engineering. After spending time working as a product manager for a high-tech company, Greg transitioned to teaching mathematics at Texas high schools for over fifteen years. When Greg is not at Sylvan, you’ll find him hiking, exploring, taking History classes at WWU, and working part-time as a medical courier for a local company as well.
