Leah LaClaire

Executive Director

Director

As Executive Director, Leah leads all daily and educational operations for Sylvan of Essex. Leah has 17 years of experience with Sylvan. She chose a career in the tutoring business because she knows that education is everything and that Sylvan is the best! She studied at the Millersville University of Pennsylvania where she received a B.S.E in Secondary Education and The University of Vermont where she received an M.A. in History. When Leah isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading a good book, traveling with her family, or practicing the Italian language!

Eileen oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in Essex, VT.  Eileen brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan and while she has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in math tutoring. She studied at The University of Vermont, St. Michael’s College and JTS. When Eileen isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her studying ancient languages just for fun!

Mary is a  tutor in Essex, VT with a gift for working with kids. While Mary has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in science tutoring. She studied at UVM. When Mary isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her riding horses.

Jack is a tutor in Essex, VT with a gift for working with kids. While Jack has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in math tutoring. He studied at Lehigh University. When Jack isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him reading, researching or playing with his dog.

Mary Ann is a tutor in Essex, VT with a gift for working with kids. While Mary Ann has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in intermediate level math and ELA tutoring. She studied at the University of Vermont and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. When Mary Ann isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her hiking, kayaking, and birdwatching
