Our tutors and staff in Leesburg consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Sherry Mohiuddin
Center Director
As Center Director, Sherry leads the teaching team for Sylvan of Leesburg. A former Marketing Executive, Sherry chose a career in the tutoring business because he wanted to help students succeed at school. He studied at Indiana University. When Sherry isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him with his kids at hockey and lacrosse games.
Gettys Nelson
Tutor
Gettys is an 9th Grade English Language Arts teacher at Independence High School in Ashburn, VA. As our Lead teacher when she isn’t teaching reading and writing skills, she is helping with curriculum planning and SAT prep. In her free time she enjoys pottery.
Rennea Butler
Reading and Writing Teacher
Mrs. B, as she likes to be called, is also a 5th-grade teacher at Elaine Thompson Elementary School in Sterling, VA. She loves teaching English Language Arts and Math to our Elementary students. When not at school or at Sylvan, Mrs. B enjoys cycling and watching classic black-and-white movies.
Shaheen Khan
Reading and Math Teacher
Shaheen Khan teaches at Tuscarora High School, where her favorite subjects are math and science. At Sylvan, she teaches both math and reading to our elementary and middle school students. When Shaheen isn’t at Sylvan or Tuscarora, she loves cooking and organizing big social gatherings for her friends and family. She also enjoys photography in her free time.
Kate Stevenson
Tutor
Kate is a 6th/7th Grade English Teacher at Seneca Ridge Middle School. She loves helping her students with building their skills in Language Arts. When she is not working helping our students she is busy caring for her pet birds and cat.
