Farheen Mohiuddin
Director
As Center Director, Farheen Mohiuddin leads the educational programs and operations for Sylvan of Richmond. A former Project Coordinator at Universal Financial Group, Farheen chose a career in the tutoring business because of her passion for fostering academic success and providing quality support to students. She studied at the United States International University (USIU) in Kenya, where she earned both her Master of Science in Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BBA).
Farheen is an amazing educator in Houston, TX. She has special expertise in project coordination, business analysis, and customer support. Known for her dedication and leadership qualities, Farheen has a great ability to relate to kids and inspire them to achieve their best.
Farheen’s diverse interests and dedication to her family add to her vibrant personality and her ability to connect with students and their families on a deeper level. Her extensive experience and unwavering commitment to education make her an invaluable leader at Sylvan Learning.
Celeste Bickham
Celeste Johnson-Bickham is a dedicated and compassionate rehabilitation counselor currently making a significant impact at the Texas Workforce Commission, leveraging over a decade of mental health experience. At Sylvan, she brings her wealth of knowledge and dedication to support students in their academic journeys, offering personalized tutoring and mentoring that helps students excel.
A distinguished graduate of the Rehabilitation Counseling program at the University of North Texas, Celeste was inducted into Chi Sigma Iota, the Counseling Academic and Professional International Honor Society, in 2020. She also holds a BA in Psychology, Cum Laude, from Texas Southern University, with a minor in Community & Economic Development, and is a proud member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. Furthering her expertise, she completed two years of graduate studies in Clinical Psychology in 2005.
Outside of her professional life, Celeste enjoys camping, watching WWE, and embracing her roles as an Air Force mom and dog mom. Her diverse interests and dedication to education make her a dynamic and invaluable asset to Sylvan and her community.
David Wersler
David Wersler is a retired veteran teacher with a wealth of experience in education. As a tutor at Sylvan, David brings his extensive background in teaching middle school Language Arts, Math, and Computer Graphics in Mississippi and Texas. His diverse expertise includes wiring school campuses for internet access in Mississippi and setting up multiple school libraries. David is a Texas certified Generalist for 4th-8th grade, a K-12 school librarian, and a K-12 principal, with significant experience overseeing the school-wide Accelerated Reader program.
David holds degrees from Eastern College (B.A., Religion), Biblical Theological Seminary (M. Div.), and Pensacola Christian College (M.S., Education Administration). Additionally, he holds an airframe and power plant mechanic certificate from the FAA. His passion for education is matched by his hobbies, which include reading and working in his workshop crafting items in metal and wood.
David is also a dedicated member of the Civil Air Patrol, serving as a chaplain in Texas and Mississippi for nearly 30 years. His enthusiasm for teaching and his desire to see students excel make him a devoted educator at Sylvan. Specializing in the basic elements of Math and English Language Arts, David brings a wide range of experience to enrich students’ lives and instill a love of learning, ensuring their success in all future endeavors.
