Our tutors and staff in McKinney consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in McKinney know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. STEPHANY ZAPATA
Executive Director
As Executive Director, Stephany works closely with the Center Directors to ensure all students get the best education possible. Stephany is a graduate of Baylor University with a Math Major with Secondary Education. Stephany also holds a certification in 8-12 Mathematics. Stephany has over 10 years of experience with supplemental education. When Stephany isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her playing with her son and dog, cooking and traveling to where the beach is.
Mehgan McGehee
CENTER DIRECTOR
Mehgan has two kids ages 6 and 10 that she solely cares for. She frequently chaperones and volunteers at their school events! Mehgan holds a certificate in Business Administration while continuing her education in that same field. She enjoys going to the park and concerts with her kids and eating tacos during her time off.
DANA DILLING
DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION
Dana is a graduate of Abilene Christian University with a degree in International Business. Dana also holds a certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL). Most of her professional roles supported day-to-day operations across various industries. Before joining Sylvan, she spent 4 years teaching ESL, when I nurtured my affinity for the educational field. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, reading, traveling, and swing dancing.
Ankoor Master
CERTIFIED TUTOR
Ankoor is a tutor at Sylvan of McKinney. She has over 20 years of experience working with children of which 12 years have been as a teacher. She holds an MA in Education with a specialization in curriculum and a BA in Psychology from the University of North Texas. Ankoor holds her certification in English Language Arts 4-8, English Language Arts 8-12, ESL EC-12, Special Education EC-12, and Generalist 4-8. At Sylvan, she enjoys teaching English Language Arts/Reading, Mathematics, and Arithmetic. When not at Sylvan, Ankoor enjoys swimming, traveling, watching movies, theater and concerts, playing board games, and spending time with her family and friends
Deborah Crawford
CERTIFIED TUTOR
Deborah is a tutor at Sylvan of McKinney. She brings a very rich teaching experience of over 13 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and is certified in ACP Special Education at all levels and Generalist grades K-6. At Sylvan, Debbie enjoys teaching Reading, Writing, Elementary Math, and History. When not at Sylvan, she enjoys listening to music, singing, reading, writing, sketching, gardening, photography, and helping people.
Heather Pyburn
CERTIFIED TUTOR
Heather is a tutor at Sylvan of McKinney. She has been a teacher for over 23 years. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts and is certified in Elementary K-6. At Sylvan, Heather enjoys teaching Math and Reading. When not at Sylvan, she enjoys camping, hiking, exploring State and National Parks, and loves to relax by reading a good book!
Melanie Nolen
Tutor
Melaine is a tutor at Sylvan of McKinney. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a Minor in Education, and Grad studies in interdisciplinary studies. At Sylvan, Melaine enjoys teaching Reading. When not at Sylvan, she enjoys walking, reading, and arts and crafts.
Meghan Gutzler
Tutor
Meghan is a tutor at Sylvan of McKinney. She holds a BA in French and an MA in French. At Sylvan, Meghan enjoys teaching Math, Reading, and Writing. When not at Sylvan, you will find Meghan listening to music, walking, spending time with her family, and watching television.
Maulin Agrawal
Tutor
Maulin is a tutor at Sylvan of McKinney. He holds a BA in Visual / Performing Arts from UTD and currently pursuing an MA in Visual / Performing Arts. Maulin is also working towards a Secondary Teaching Certification. At Sylvan, he enjoys teaching Algebra and English. When not at Sylvan, Maulin enjoys painting, karaoke, yoga, voice acting, and traveling.
Kritika Bisht
Tutor
Kritika is a tutor at Sylvan of McKinney. She is currently enrolled in a pre-med undergraduate at UT Austin studying biochemistry. At Sylvan, she enjoys teaching Reading, Writing, Math, and Algebra. When not at Sylvan, Kritika enjoys watching thrillers/mysteries, reading, painting, playing the piano, and hiking.
