Our tutors and staff in Flower Mound consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Flower Mound know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Stephany Zapata
Executive Director
As Executive Director, Stephany works closely with the Directors to ensure all students get the best education possible. Stephany is a graduate of Baylor University with a Math Major in Secondary Education. Stephany also holds a certification in 8-12 Mathematics. Stephany has over 10 years of experience with supplemental education. When Stephany isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her playing with her son and dog, cooking, and traveling to where the beach.
DANNY RAFAJKO
Center Director
Danny oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors. Danny holds a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies from TSU and a M. Ed. in Educational Leadership from UTSA. Danny also holds certifications in EC-4 Generalist, ESL and Principal. When Danny isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him spending time with his family, volunteering, reading, cooking and hiking.
Catherine Hotard
Director of Education
Catherine is the Director of Education at Sylvan Learning of Flower Mound with a gift for working with kids. Catherine holds a bachelor’s in Education from the University of Dallas. She is certified in Generalist and ESL EC-6. When Catherine isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find reading, hiking, and learning French as a new language.
Sara Bratton
CERTIFIED TUTOR
Sara is a teacher at the Sylvan Learning of Flower Mound. Sara holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master’s in Math Education. Sara teaches Math, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and SAT/ACT at Sylvan. Sara taught in the school system for 42 years before retiring. When she isn’t at Sylvan, Sara enjoys being with her family and being engaged in her church and community.
Dianna Moore
CERTIFIED TUTOR
Dianna is a teacher at the Sylvan Learning of Flower Mound. Dianna holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Certification in Early Childhood Development. Dianna teaches K-8 reading and writing and k-6 math at Sylvan. When not at Sylvan Dianna likes reading science fiction books and playing sudoku.
Moneeb Sarmad
Tutor
Moneeb is a tutor at Sylvan of Flower Mound. He holds a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s in Education. At Sylvan, Moneeb teaches K 12 Reading and Writing, Math, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and SAT/ACT. When not at Sylvan, Moneeb likes to spend time with his wife and daughter.
Elisabeth (Lizzy) Hotard
Tutor
Lizzy is a tutor at Sylvan Learning. She holds a Bachelor’s in Theatre. She teaches K-8 Reading, Writing, and Math at Sylvan. When not at Sylvan, Lizzy enjoys reading and drawing.
Deborah Evans
Tutor
Deborah is a tutor at Sylvan. She holds a Bachelor of Science. At Sylvan, Deborah teaches K-8 Math and K 12 Reading and Writing. When not at Sylvan you’ll find Deborah traveling, swimming, spending time with her family, and watching her daughter play golf.
