Meet Our Team

Lori Wilcox oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in El Paso (West), Texas. A former elementary teacher in El Paso, Lori brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan Learning-El Paso West. She graduated from University of Phoenix and the University of El Paso. When Lori isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending time with her teenage daugther, 3 dogs, and/or cooking and working in her garden!

Sylvia Provencio is a Math/Reading tutor in El Paso, TX with a gift for working with kids. While Sylvia has many tutoring talents, she finds greatest joy in Math tutoring. She studied at University of Texas at El Paso. When Sylvia isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her singing in the church choir!

Charles Hill is a Math/SAT tutor in El Paso, TX with a gift for explaining math problems with patience. While Charles has many tutoring talents, he finds greatest joy in helping students understand math lessons. He studied a UTEP. While Charles isn’t at Sylvan, you can find him substituting at Franklin or Coronado High School or watching movies and reading books!

Denis Roark is an SAT/ACT tutor, specializing in high school Reading and Writing at Sylvan Learning El Paso West. While Denis has many tutoring talents, he finds greatest joy in teaching English, especially Grammar. He studied at three universities – Texas Tech University, university of North Texas, and University of Arizona. When Denis is not working at Sylvan, you can find him doing one of his favorite pastimes, watching baseball or old movies!

Evelyne Silva is an amazing All Subjects tutor in El Paso, TX. She has special expertise in Reading tutoring and Writing Tutoring. Evelyne has a grea ability to relate to kids because she is not judgemental. She studied at UTEP.When Evelyne is not at Sylvan, you can find her working in her yard and keeping up with politics!

Louise Rice is a wonderful Reading and Writing tutor in El Paso, TX. She has expertise in Elementary Education and Spanish. Louise has a great ability to relate to kids because she uses humor to get students to trust her and want to learn. Louise studied at Arizona State University. When not tutoring at Sylvan, Louise likes to play Mahjong and Bunco weekly with friends!

Melissa Orrantia is a tutor in El Paso, TX with a gift for working with students. While Melissa has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in Math tutoring. She studied at University of Texas at El Paso and Texas College. When Melissa isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her building her own business in jewelry and art sales!

Roberta Elias is a wonderful tutor in El Paso, TX. she has special expertise in teaching Reading in all grade levels and Elementary Math. Roberta studied at the University of Phoenix. When not working at Sylvan, she works for EPISD as a Behavior Interventionist. A personal trait that helps Roberta relax to kids is remembering all the times she strugged and had no one who was patient with her on tried to help her understand. On her free time, you will find her traveling or spending time with her children and grandchildren!

Lorena Martinez is a great 1st grade teacher in El Paso, TX. She has special expertise in early Reading tutoring and Math tutoring. Strict yet pleasant, Lorena has a great ability to relate to kids. She studied at UTEP. When Lorena isn’t at Sylvan, you might find her at Target shopping or taking a nap in her cozy bed!
