Our tutors and staff in Lancaster consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Lancaster know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Lauren Webster
Owner/Franchisee
Lauren graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education from Penn State University. She started at Sylvan as a tutor in 2014. Lauren and her husband, Mike, became owners of the Palmyra and Lancaster locations in June of 2017. They took over the York location in June of 2019 and opened Mechanicsburg in July of 2021.
In her free time, Lauren enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and watching her daughter grow!
Mike Webster
Owner/Franchisee
Mike is a 2008 Graduate of Cedar Crest High School and Career and Technology Center as a certified Electrician. He has operated his father’s construction company for the past seven years as the Vice President and Director of Operations As of June 1, 2017 he is the Secretary and Treasurer of Webster Associates, Inc. which does business as Sylvan Learning Center. In his free time Mike enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
KIM HABYK
CENTER DIRECTOR
Director
Kim received a Bachelor of Arts in English with a secondary teaching certificate, grades 7-12th, from Messiah College in 2009. She has her master’s in Education with a specialty in Differentiated Instruction. She has taught in the classroom setting for a total of 9 years as long term substitutes and as a teacher in the private school sector. During her time in the classroom, she taught, English, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Library Science. She has been with the Sylvan team since 2010 as a tutor, STEM teacher, SAT instructor, and Prometric TCA. In her free time, she enjoys painting, reading, crafts, spending time with family and friends, and cuddling with her cat.
Susan Schulz
Program Manager
Susan graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School. She attended Millersville University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Education. She worked in public education for 34 years from 1989 until retirement in 2022. While employed, she received a Master’s Degree of Science in Education specializing in curriculum planning from Wilkes University and attended reading specialist classes at Eastern Mennonite University. Currently, Susan is thrilled to work for Sylvan as both a tutor and program manager. She is married with two sons. Whenever she can, she spends time with her two border collies, visits her son in Montana, and hikes in and travels to the Adirondacks in NY.
Abby Winger
Program Manager
Abby graduated from Ephrata High School in 2018. She attended Millersville University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Social Studies Education in 2022. She started as a tutor at Sylvan in 2022, and became a Program Manager in 2023. During the days, she substitute teaches in the schools in the Lancaster area. And in the afternoons, she is in our Lancaster center. During her free time, Abby enjoys playing her trumpet and guitar, reading books, and playing her Nintendo Switch.
