Meet Our Team

Fatima joined the Sylvan of Beavercreek team in October 2023.  Fatima attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she studied English linguistics and education.  Because of her background, Fatima really enjoys our reading program, but she finds great joy watching  students in all programs grow in their academics and confidence.  Since beginning at Sylvan, Fatima has found she really enjoys the relationships she is able to form with families!  When Fatima is not at Sylvan, she loves to paint flowers, explore nature, and listen to podcasts and country music!

Jean has been working at Sylvan for a total of 35 years in several Sylvan centers. She joined the Sylvan team in Beavercreek in 2005. Over the years, Jean has become very familiar with the Sylvan programs, and she enjoys working with the reading program the most! Jean loves connecting with the Sylvan students and helping them achieve their goals. When Jean is not at Sylvan, she can be found reading, doing crafts, and swimming.

Brian joined the Sylvan team in 2021. A graduate of Ohio University and Antioch University McGregor, Brian holds bachelor’s degrees in management information systems and education (PreK-3). At Sylvan, Brian enjoys working with the students and staff, especially in the math program! In his free time, Brian enjoys attending concerts.

In December 2022, Finnick joined the Sylvan of Beavercreek team. Knowing he wanted to teach since he was in high school, Finnick pursued Art Education at Ohio State University. He loves seeing students grow and enjoys teaching the reading and writing programs at Sylvan! In his free time, Finnick enjoys art, writing, reading, and video games.

A September 2023 addition to the Sylvan of Beavercreek team, Abigail loves teaching math!  She graduated from Cedarville University with a degree in Mathematics and AYA Mathematics Education.  Abigail already loves teaching the math programs at Sylvan and really enjoys watching the kids’ knowledge progress.  She also likes seeing the kids gain confidence in their work and their answers.  When she is not at Sylvan, Abigail enjoys going to the gym, hanging out with friends, reading, and playing volleyball.

Amy joined the Sylvan team in Beavercreek in 2023.  As a graduate of Wright Stated University with a degree in Integrated Language Arts (7-12), Amy has enjoyed working with the reading program the most at Sylvan.  She loves to be able to provide individual instruction to students and celebrate their achievements.  When you don’t find Amy at Sylvan, she is probably writing, reading, playing video games, or singing!

With a degree in Mathematics from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Emily loves working in the math program at Sylvan. Emily joined the Sylvan of Beavercreek team in October of 2024 and has already enjoyed watching the students become more confident! When Emily is not at Sylvan, she enjoys video games, playing ukulele, and making jewelry by wrapping rocks and beads with wire.

Marcie G. graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She joined the Sylvan team in 1996, first as an instructor. Marcie has held positions as a Director of Education, Center Director, and Executive Director. Marcie is very comfortable and knowledgeable about all of the Sylvan programs and over the years has seen the positive impact they have had on thousands of students! In her free time, Marcie enjoys reading, shopping, and mostly, spending time with her family!
