Meet Our Team

Carol S. is the Executive Director and Owner of the Sylvan Learning Centers in Rochester and Pittsford, New York. She enjoys meeting with incoming parents and families to help them develop academic programs in order to help students gain the skills and confidence they need for success. A graduate from Kent State University with a Masters Degree in Public and Private School Administration from the University of Rochester, Carol opened the centers 27 years ago after a long teaching career in Penfield and Brighton. She brings a wealth of knowledge, passion for education, and excitement to each Sylvan center. When Carol isn’t at Sylvan, she enjoys spending time with her family!

Susan is the Director and Co-Owner of the Sylvan Learning Centers in Rochester and Pittsford, New York. She enjoys meeting with families and working together to help each family meet their goals for growth and success. A graduate from Hobart, William Smith College, along with the William E. Simon School at the University of Rochester, Susan worked together with Carol to expand the center locations. She brings a diverse education and background along with her passion for Sylvan to families locally and nationally through her role as the President of the National Franchise Owners Association Board. When Susan isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending time with her family and friends.

Scott S. is the Director and Co-Owner of the Sylvan Learning Centers in Rochester and Pittsford, New York. He oversees the daily operations of maintaining each center as well as manages the marketing and account information. A graduate from Ithaca College with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing, Scott brings strong communication skills and a business background to the center management. When Scott isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him hanging out with his family and four children supporting them in crew, hockey and ballet.

Kristin is the Center Director at the Pittsford Sylvan Learning location in Rochester, NY, since 2000. She coordinates training of incoming Teachers and Directors, and works directly with students and families to develop programs in all academic areas. She is passionate about helping each student gain the skills and confidence they need for success at home, Sylvan, and at school. Kristin enjoys building a relationship with classroom teachers, parents, and students throughout the year to ensure that each student reaches their greatest potential. Kristin loves spending time with her family including her two sons, baking, and supporting her church.
