Our tutors and staff in Mineola consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Mineola know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Lisa Amaya
Director
Lisa has been with Sylvan since 2005 and is the acting Center Director at our Mineola location. Lisa holds her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Adelphi University, along with a BA in Political Science and a minor in History. Lisa is extremely passionate about what we do here at Sylvan. Being able to meet student needs on such a personalized level really allows them to grow in both skills and confidence. Lisa truly enjoys working with our students and their families to make sure that their needs are being met. When she is not at the center Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 daughters.
Stephanie Raduazzo
Lead Teacher
Stephanie has been teaching at Sylvan since 2019. She has a Master’s degree from Long Island University Post. She is certified in both Elementary Education and Literacy. Aside from teaching at Sylvan, Stephanie substitute teaches and has taught grades Kindergarten through fifth grade. In her free time Stephanie likes to read and spend time with her family.
Nick Azzariti
Teacher
Meet Nick! Nick has been a member of our team since May of 2022. Nick received his Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from High Point University and has used his knowledge of instruction and content to be a pivotal part of our team. He specializes in Kindergarten through 8th grade math, as well as early literacy and provides support in English Language Arts and Algebra 1. Nick emphasizes using current and relevant teaching methods and is equipped to present instruction in various ways for students that struggle. When he and his students have downtime, you can find them cracking jokes, discussing the newest trends, and playing UNO.
