Our tutors and staff in Holly Springs consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Holly Springs know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Callie Hammond
Director
As Director, Callie leads our team of tutors in Holly Springs. A former teacher, Callie taught in North Carolina for 28 years and spent the last 5 years teaching in California. Callie has also tutored every grade level in almost every subject, from Algebra to Spanish, so a career at Sylvan was an ideal choice when she moved back to North Carolina to be close to family. Callie has her Bachelors from Davidson, her Masters in Educational Change and Technology, and her National Board Teaching Certification. When Callie isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading and involved in theatre!
Martin Rothman
Regional Director
As Regional Director, Martin oversees our centers in Cary, Durham, High Point, Holly Springs & Fayetteville. A former district manager for High Touch High Tech, Martin chose a career at Sylvan for the opportunity to help kids & their families realize that they can achieve their educational goals. He believes our Sylvan team truly is a “family” with each of us working to make a difference in the lives of the students we work with and to see the joy in their faces when they achieve something they may not have thought possible. When he’s not at Sylvan, Martin enjoys exercising, going to the gym, participating in fun activities with his 2 girls, and he really enjoys cooking!
Cindy Presnell
Admissions Director
Cindy has been an integral part of our Sylvan team since 2004. As our Admissions Director, Cindy introduces parents to Sylvan, and we don’t know what we would do without her! When Cindy isn’t at Sylvan, she is training her dog, spending time with her family and friends, and looking forward to trips to the beach.
Jennifer Geck
Director
Ms. Jennifer has been the education director at Sylvan of Holly Springs for many years. She is a former elementary school teacher who homeschools her own three children, so she brings a wealth of knowledge to the Sylvan family.
Rob Komorowski
Tutor
Mr. Rob is a certified special needs teacher who has worked with elementary, middle and high school students. He has worked at Sylvan for a number of years tutoring all levels and subject (except high level math — don’t make him do high level math).
John Stephens
Tutor
Mr. John teaches music when he’s not at Sylvan. He especially enjoys dressing up for Sylvan theme weeks and collecting Pokemon cards.
Isaac Kim
Tutor
Mr. Isaac is a recent computer science graduate from UNC-Charlotte. He tutors all levels, especially higher level math, SAT and ACT.
Kate Coryea
Tutor
Ms. Kate is an elementary school teacher. She loves to work with the younger students.
ZiZi Hammond
Tutor
Ms. ZiZi graduated from William Peace University. She has previously worked at We Rock the Spectrum for people on the autism spectrum and with a performance group for people with disabilities. She has also trained service dogs for people with mobility issues, diabetes, and PTSD.
Eve Fulton
Tutor
Ms. Eve is a senior at NC State, majoring in Aerospace Engineering and minoring in mathematics. She has made the dean’s list every year, and is a member of the Society of Women Engineers.
Melissa Bunyak
Tutor
Ms. Melissa is a former teacher who “retired” to raise her children. She works at a local preschool as well as at Sylvan.
