Martin Rothman

Regional Director

As Regional Director, Martin oversees our centers in Cary, Durham, High Point, Holly Springs & Fayetteville. A former district manager for High Touch High Tech, Martin chose a career at Sylvan for the opportunity to help kids & their families realize that they can achieve their educational goals. He believes our Sylvan team truly is a “family” with each of us working to make a difference in the lives of the students we work with and to see the joy in their faces when they achieve something they may not have thought possible. When he’s not at Sylvan, Martin enjoys exercising, going to the gym, participating in fun activities with his 2 girls, and he really enjoys cooking!

Cindy Presnell

Admissions Director

Cindy has been an integral part of our Sylvan team since 2004. As our Admissions Director, Cindy introduces parents to Sylvan, and we don’t know what we would do without her! When Cindy isn’t at Sylvan, she is training her dog, spending time with her family and friends, and looking forward to trips to the beach.

Pat Strobel, one of the teachers at the Fayetteville, NC Sylvan Learning Center, greatly enjoys working with children. Ms. Pat tutors a wide range of the Sylvan courses: Beginning Reading, Reading, Math, Writing, Study Skills, and verbal ACT/SAT prep. She studied at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania and is a nationally board certified teacher. She is a school librarian and enjoys reading.

Mr. Richard

Exceptional Teacher

Richard has been at Sylvan in Fayetteville since March, 2012. He is certified to tutor Mathematics, History, and Physical Education. He received his Bachelor’s in Social Studies, a Master’s in History, and a Master’s in Physical Education. All of these degrees are from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He has been in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in Tennis. He is also a member of Phi Alpha Theta, academic honorary of History. he has taught at the Middle school, high school, and college levels.

Ms. Debbie is one of those teachers you never forget. She is an excellent educator who possesses a level of skill and patience that students find comfortable and encouraging. Ms. Debbie has taught and tutored for many years and has the ability to help students who have different learning styles/needs. Also, Ms. Debbie and her family thoroughly enjoy sports. On an evening in the Spring you can probably catch her at a park watching a baseball game.
