Morgan Flottmeier

Co-Owner and Center Director

As one of the owners and directors, Morgan leads center operations, oversees the personal education plans for each student, and ensures that all families are satisfied with the many benefits Sylvan has to offer. Upon completing her bachelor’s degree in history and Latin from the University of Dallas, she began her career with Sylvan as a part-time tutor and later became the director for two centers in Delaware. Morgan is passionate about helping students grow in confidence and achieve success in their academic pursuits. When she isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading a good book, baking a sweet treat, hanging out with one of her three cats, or traveling with her friends and family.

Suzanne Flottmeier

Co-Owner and Center Director

Fellow co-owner and director Suzanne immerses herself in all aspects of the center’s day-to-day processes and especially enjoys interacting with students and families at Sylvan. Having spent the majority of her life as a stay-at-home parent to two amazing kids, she has always felt that helping children was her calling. Suzanne was motivated to partner with her daughter, Morgan, and open their own center after hearing about how Sylvan was inspiring its students to flourish in and out of the classroom. When she’s not in the office, Suzanne likes to travel, create handmade cards and crafts, play a round of Euchre with her family, and enjoy some quality time with her three cats and two dogs.

Joseph Peterson

Tutor

As one of the instructors, Joseph ensures that students feel welcome and helps them wherever they are on their Sylvan journey. He graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in Elementary Education and is currently working as a 2nd grade teacher at a local charter school. Joseph loves teaching and watching students grow academically. He especially enjoys seeing the moment when things just “click!” When Joseph isn’t at school or at Sylvan, you’ll find him spending time with his wife and preparing for their first child. You will also find him enjoying one of his many hobbies: reading, listening to music, singing, playing video games, and working on building/art projects.

Melodie Olson

Tutor

Melodie helps students in all grades with reading & writing. She is enthusiastic about learning and has attended several colleges & universities, such as Regent University, Crown College, and the University of Northwestern. She is currently planning to further her education by getting her tutoring certification through the NTA. Professionally, Melodie has worked in public & private daycares as a teacher. She also has experience as a special education para-professional and has worked as a tutor for AmeriCorps’ Elementary Literacy Program. Melodie loves working with children who she calls the “heart of my life.” In her spare time, Melodie likes to sew, craft, and spend time with her two dogs.
