Leah LaClaire
Franchisee
Leah is the franchisee of two Sylvan locations in Maine and Vermont. Leah has 17 years of experience with Sylvan. She chose a career in the tutoring business because she knows that education is everything and that Sylvan is the best! She studied at the Millersville University of Pennsylvania where she received a B.S.E in Secondary Education and The University of Vermont where she received an M.A. in History. When Leah isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading a good book, traveling with her family, or practicing the Italian language!
Heather Knowles
Director
As Center Director, Heather leads center operations and community outreach for Sylvan of Topsham. A former special educator, Heather chose a career in the tutoring business because she has a passion for education and a commitment to making a difference in student’s lives. Heather studied at the University of Maine at Farmington, where she received a degree in Education. When Heather isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending time with her children, gardening, and creating art.
