Our tutors and staff in Gonzales consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Gonzales know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. Leah
Tutor
A great passion for teaching brought Leah to Sylvan of Gonzales, LA. A graduate of Montclair State University and Marygrove College, she brings several years of teaching middle and high school Math and combines that experience with Sylvan Study Skills to help children achieve their goals in and out of school. Among her many talents, Leah enjoys teaching Beginning Reading and Reading for Sylvan Sync and seeing the students evolve into strong independent learners. When Leah isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her solving Sudoku puzzles or sharing her baking skills with friends.
Nanette
Tutor
Nanette is a teacher in St. Amant with a gift for working with kids. While Nanette has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in Language Arts. She studied at Louisiana State University. When Nanette isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her in the classroom, gardening, reading and listening to and playing music.
Susan Fox
Director
As Center Director, Susan Fox leads the center and educational duties for Sylvan of Gonzales. Susan is a former high school special education teacher with 34 years experience, Susan also taught at various Sylvans since 1997. She studied at Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, LA earning a BA degree and certification in Elementary Education grades 1-8 and Special Education grades 1-12. When Susan isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her enjoying activities with her pets, friends, and family.
