Our tutors and staff in Zephyrhills consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Zephyrhills know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Donna English
Center Director
As Center Director, Donna leads Sylvan of Zephyrhills in management and educational planning. She is a former classroom teacher and bookkeeper for a local non-profit organization, with degrees in early childhood education and social work. Donna chose a career with Sylvan to inspire students to succeed. When Donna isn’t at Sylvan, she enjoys spending time with her children and grandchilden.
Jana Thompson
Certified Tutor
Jana has been a tutor with Sylvan since 1999. She has also served as Director of Education and Center Director. Jana earned degrees in Math and Computer Science. She loves to do puzzles of all types, and she loves teaching students to love math. Her greatest joy is seeing students begin to display confidence and develop a love of learning.
Frank Wheeler
Certified Tutor
Frank is a retired middle school teacher with degrees in Psychology and Education. He attended PHSC and St. Leo University. Although he has taught Language Arts, Math, and Science, Math is his passion. When he isn’t at Sylvan, Frank loves spending time with family and biking.
Maria Montanile
Certified Tutor
Maria is originally from New Jersey. She currently teaches Special Education in Hillsborough County. Maria graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree is Specific Learning Disabilities. Maria believes every child can learn within a safe and nurturing environment. In her free time, Maria enjoys biking, reading, and movies.
