Peter Bartoli
Center Director/Owner
As Center Director, Peter manages the educational programs and staff for the Sylvan Learning Center of Southbury. A former middle school teacher, Peter chose a career in the tutoring business because he felt this was how he could help children realize their true academic potential. When Peter isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him enjoying time with his family, skiing, hiking, playing soccer and baseball.
Sharon
Instructor
Sharon is a graduate of UConn with a BA in English and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. She has worked in several high school classrooms teaching honors and AP level students. She enjoys working at Sylvan because it allows her to work with each on student on an individual level; she loves making connections with her students and helping them grow and succeed so they can reach their full potential. In her spare time, Sharon loves to read and go hiking with her dogs in Vermont.
Katherine
Instructor
Katherine is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a BA in Education and a Masters in Reading and Language Arts. Prior to joining Sylvan, Katherine taught 3rd and tutored students from grades K to 5 in reading, writing and mathematics. Katherine enjoys working at Sylvan because it allows her to work directly and explicitly with students to address their academic needs. She loves the “light bulb” moment that occurs when a student suddenly “gets it”. When not at Sylvan, Katherine can be found playing with her two young children and spending time with her family.
