Dr. Garcia
General Manager
As General Manager, Dr. Arlene Garcia leads the daily operations for Sylvan of Brookfield. She loves inspiring young people to succeed. Dr. Garcia has over 20 years of experience working with students. She taught in local colleges and White Plains High School in NY. As a speaker, she worked with former Secretary of State Colin Powell, Senator Ted Kennedy, and Miss America in Washington, D.C. She has also spoken at local and community functions in Connecticut and New York and is an author. Dr. Garcia obtained her BA and Master of Arts in Teaching from Manhattanville College, her doctorate in criminology from the Graduate Center and her School Building Certificate from St. Rose.
Dr. Samuel Rodriguez
Assistant Director
As Assistant Director, Samuel helps lead the daily operations for Sylvan of Brookfield. A former school principal and professor, Samuel chose a career in the tutoring business because of a deep desire to help students close the achievement gap. Dr. Rodriguez studied at State University of New York at Buffalo. When Samuel isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him playing tennis or riding his Harley Motorcycle.
Staci E.
Tutor and Test Administrator
Staci is an instructor and test administrator for Sylvan of Brookfield. She has been a team member in Brookfield for over 20 years. While Staci has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in math tutoring. She graduated from SUNY Oswego and Western Connecticut State University. When Staci is not at Sylvan, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, reading and exercising.
Sherri R.
Tutor
Sherri is an instructor at Sylvan of Brookfield. While Sherri has many tutoring talents, she especially enjoys tutoring elementary age students in reading, writing and math. Sherri graduated from Old Dominion University and Mount Saint Mary’s College. Outside of Sylvan, Sherri is an active member of her town’s PTA, and she is passionate about animal welfare.
