Mandy C.

Executive Director

Mandy believes that every child can be successful in their learning journey and has a genuine passion for seeing children succeed in school. After receiving a MBA from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Mandy spent more than a decade working in marketing research in Kansas City, Minneapolis, and New York City. After settling in CT with her family, she has taken the initiative to establish the Sylvan of Brookfield CT as the premier provider of personalized tutoring and learning in northwest CT. When she isn’t greeting students at the center she enjoys relaxing with her family on Candlewood Lake in the summer and cheering at her kids’ hockey games in the winter.

Lauren brings a blend of marketing and operations experience to her role at Sylvan of Brookfield, where she enjoys creating a welcoming and supportive environment for families. With over a decade of experience working with both national brands and local businesses, she brings a community-focused approach to her work. Since joining the team, she’s especially enjoyed building relationships with families and helping ensure the center runs smoothly. Outside of Sylvan, Lauren loves spending time outdoors with her husband and their two dogs, staying active, discovering new restaurants, and seeking out the best local donuts and ice cream.

Judith oversees Sylvan’s daily operations to ensure an exceptional experience for both students and families. With a knack for organization, Judith creates personalized schedules that match students’ and staff availability, making sure each child gets the support they need to succeed. She also coordinates staff and resources to maintain an efficient, welcoming environment. When she’s not working, Judith unleashes her creativity by crocheting plushies and dreams of bringing characters to life as a voice actor.

Staci E.

Head Tutor

Staci is an instructor and test administrator for Sylvan of Brookfield.  She has been a team member in Brookfield for over 20 years.  While Staci has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in math tutoring.  She graduated from SUNY Oswego and Western Connecticut State University.  When Staci is not at Sylvan, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, reading and exercising.

Sherri R.

Tutor

Sherri is an instructor at Sylvan of Brookfield. She has over 20 years of teaching experience as a classroom teacher in NYC, Westchester County, NY, and New Milford, CT. She graduated from Old Dominion University and went on to earn her MS in elementary education at Mount Saint Mary College. In her free time she enjoys walking her dogs, spending time with family, reading, movies and rooting for the Yankees.

Dan O.

Lead Math Tutor

Dan has extensive experience teaching math to middle school, high school, and college students at UConn where he currently teaches a variety of courses through Calculus II.  Dan has a BA in math from Illinois State, and a MA in math from Western Connecticut where he received his teaching certification.  Dan has also taught in public schools and a charter school.  Working at Sylvan affords Dan the opportunity to work individually with students on particular assigned skills that fill in gaps to improve their performance and promote confidence.  On a personal note, Dan’s outside interests lie primarily in the area of the Chicago sports teams, except for the Cubs.

Yoselyn enjoys teaching kids of all ages and most importantly helping their self esteem grow. She first delved into tutoring as a peer tutor for economics and history at George Washington University, where she graduated with a BA in International Affairs. Here at Sylvan, she has expanded her offerings to tutoring students of all ages in reading, writing, and math. When she is not at work she likes hiking, painting, working out and spending time with friends.

Shafaq is a tutor at Sylvan of Brookfield. She received her introduction to tutoring as a peer tutor for biology and chemistry at Western Connecticut State University, where she graduated with a BA in Biology. Here at Sylvan, she has since expanded her offerings to tutoring students of all ages in reading, writing, and math, as well as providing homework support in science. In her free time, she likes reading, writing, thrifting, and going for walks.
