Jessica Agopian
Executive Director
Director
As the Executive Director at Sylvan Learning Center of West Covina, Jessica brings a unique blend of creativity and professionalism to the table. With a passion for helping students reach their full potential, she expertly oversees the daily operations of the center, combining her event planning background with her bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Long Beach State University.
Jessica has always loved working with children. She’s since turned that love into a successful career at Sylvan, where she is committed to making a difference in students’ lives. With her energetic spirit and determined approach, there’s no limit to what can be achieved at Sylvan Learning Center!
Chelsea Moore
Director of Education
Director
Chelsea is the Director of Education in West Covina. She helps develop and implement learning strategies to help each student reach their academic potential and beyond. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in English from CSULA. In college, she worked as a private tutor for students of all ages. There she found her passion for working with children. She also has a background in ABA Therapy and worked as a Registered Behavior Technician. Chelsea started as a Sylvan instructor and worked up to the Director position! When she isn’t at Sylvan, Chelsea likes to spend time with family and enjoys film photography. She also loves to travel and explore the outdoors with her fiancé and their two pups!
Julianna Lee
Program Manager
Julianna is an instructor with a literature background and a passion for reading fictional literary works. She graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing & English. At Sylvan, she hopes to help kids enjoy reading and writing as much as she does. During Julianna’s free time, she likes to paint landscapes, play video games, read novels, binge all the streaming platforms, and visit new fine dining restaurants with friends.
Nicholas Navarro
Teacher
Nicholas has been working at Sylvan for the past 2 years as an instructor and center assistant. He grew up in La Puente and graduated from Glen A. Wilson High School in Hacienda Heights. Currently, he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona. Nicholas finds it fulfilling to assist kids in learning more about math. During his free time, he enjoys playing drums and creating his own music while also being a drum line instructor at multiple high schools in the area. Nicholas is excited about the future and wants to continue guiding the next generation of scholars to achieve their goals.
Rosa Figueroa
Teacher
Rosa received both her Bachelors Degree and Teaching credential from California State University, Los Angeles. Previously, she worked for the Mountain View School District as a substitute. Currently she is teaching High School English in the La Puente area. Rosa loves reading and traveling. She is a Los Angeles Dodgers fan and enjoys playing volleyball and running. Rosa also loves Disneyland.
Anais Hernandez
Teacher
Anais graduated from California State University, Fullerton in 2020, earning a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies with a minor in History. Currently pursuing a teaching credential in Social Studies at California State University, Long Beach, Anais aspires to teach middle school history. Anais combines academic expertise with a friendly and approachable demeanor. Beyond the classroom, Anais enjoys 90s movies and attending concerts. As a valued member of the Sylvan team, Anais is excited to inspire and empower students on their educational journey.
