Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in San Jose – Westgate know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Gary G.
Tutor
Gary is a native of San Jose and attended Santa Clara University. He graduated with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in mathematics. Upon graduating Gary earned a subject area credential in mathematics. He has taught both junior high and high school classes for over 35 years at St. Leo’s School in San Jose. Gary became a Sylvan instructor in the fall of 2005. He sincerely enjoys helping our Sylvan students with mathematics and reading!
Natalie L.
Tutor
Natalie enjoys tutoring and seeing students grow in knowledge and confidence. She teaches various subjects, her favorite being math. Natalie obtained her B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at M.I.T. While most of her career has been in the engineering field, she has always had a passion for teaching, and has been able to fulfill that dream at Sylvan. During her free time, you can find her hiking and gardening.
