Melissa
Sylvan Certified Teacher
Ms. Melissa was born in Northern Indiana but has called California her home for most of her life. Her love of children started very young, as she started working with school age students while taking Child Development classes in High School. She then moved on to attended California State University, Sacramento where she earned her BA in Liberal Arts and then her Teaching Credential at California State University, Stanislaus. Melissa has taught in grades 1-8, with Middle School being her most recent passion.
When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her two sons. She also loves to spend her time on the river kayaking or paddleboarding, reading, cooking healthy meals for her family, and spending as much time as possible with friends and family. Ms. Melissa also loves to attend live music events and travel. She tends to be attracted toward places where she can dig her toes in some warm beach sand and enjoy the sunshine. She has been to several different countries such Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Jamaica, The Cayman Islands and Cozumel to name but a few. But more importantly, she has an exuberant love for children and a passion for teaching.

Pam
Sylvan Certified Teacher
After teaching for 35 years, grades 2-8, I am looking forward to enabling students to succeed in math, my favorite subject to teach.
Learning math is like learning a new language – it needs to be practiced on a daily basis. If your child falls behind, it becomes difficult to keep up and to be successful in high school and college. Whether your child needs help catching up or wants to remain successful in math, I am looking forward to ensuring that all goals are met!
