Our tutors and staff in Scottsdale consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Scottsdale know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Victoria Sherrard
Director
Victoria has been with Sylvan since 1993. She loves meeting new families and helping them find solutions to their academic challenges.
Jack West
Assistant Director
As Assistant Director, Jack helps our families find a program and schedule that works for them. He has more than 40 years of customer service experience and loves helping our students meet their goals.
Kathie
Teacher/Tutor
Kathie Working has been part of the Sylvan Learning team for more than 25 years. She is passionate about making sure students have what it takes to navigate the challenges of the classroom. She loves seeing students reach their potential and discover the joy of learning.
Natasha
Teacher/Tutor
Natasha Brophy is a warm and caring teacher who loves to make a difference in the lives of students. She has experience teaching in public, private, and charter schools in various districts. Natasha received her MEd from the University of San Diego. In her spare time, she loves hiking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
Jesse
Teacher/Tutor
Jesse DePoy, known to fans of his art and comedy as “Kid Ever”, holds three bachelor’s degrees from the University of North Texas, where he was student body president, among other positions. After winning a Top 10 Speaker of the Year award, he was offered a teaching and research assistantship in the Department of Political Science as a graduate student. As an undergraduate, he was named an outstanding tutor and was a supplemental instructor for College Algebra. Jesse joined in 2019 as a math and college prep instructor at Sylvan.
Whitney
Teacher/Tutor
Whitney Sobel earned a degree in Educational Studies from Arizona State University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She is a reading and math teacher and enjoys helping our students reach their full potential. She is an avid cook and loves fitness.
Sarah
Teacher/Tutor
Sarah Perleberg joined the Sylvan team in 2023 and brings with her an expertise in math and science. She attended Arizona State University where she earned degrees in math and physics. She is an accomplished musician having mastered the upright and electric bass and has performed in Carnegie Hall!
