Our tutors and staff in Nepean consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Nepean know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Pranav
Center Director
As Centre Director, Pranav oversees the center’s operations and marketing details for Sylvan of Nepean. He has extensive business management expertise in Education and is responsible for ensuring Sylvan’s high operating standards are met and that parents and students enjoy the maximum benefits from their Sylvan experience. He holds a master’s in Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology. When Pranav isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him going for a hike or a boat ride with his family.
Dr. Silki
Director of Education
Silki oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in Nepean. A former Research Scientist and educator in Ontario and USA, Silki brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of Nepean. She graduated from Ohio University with Masters’s in Physics and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Central Florida. She finds the greatest joy in teaching and helping students reach their full potential. When Silki isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her trying new recipes, reading, or playing with her son.
Emma
Teacher
Emma is a teacher who aims to make learning fun and attainable. Through a positive and encouraging outlook, she hopes that students feel comfortable and ready to take on new challenges at her table. Emma completed her Bachelors in Psychology and went on to pursue a Bachelor of Education at the University of Ottawa. When Emma is not at Sylvan you will find her going on walks with her puppy, trying a new recipe, or watching a movie.
Kelsea
Teacher
Kelsea is an amazing teacher, with a gift for working with kids. She is a teacher who loves to share her passion and love of learning with her students. She strives to create an inclusive and positive environment to help her students reach their full potential. While Kelsea has many teaching talents, she finds the greatest joy in teaching Math and Chemistry to high school students. Kelsea received a Bachelor of Science and went on to pursue a Bachelor of Education at the University of Ottawa. When she is not teaching at Sylvan, you can find her hiking, reading in her hammock, or trying a new recipe!
Emma
Teacher
Emma is a teacher who aims to take the stress out of school by helping students improve their knowledge and their confidence. By encouraging creativity and building on students’ understandings, her goal is to show students that learning can be fun. Emma is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Political Science, and one day hopes to teach politics at the university level. When she is not teaching Sylvan, you’ll find her, writing, swimming, or reading classic literature and history.
Ansh
Amazing Assisstant
Ansh is our amazing helper with the gift of making the most amazing Coffee for our teachers. While Ansh has many talents, he finds the greatest joy in assisting teachers, organizing student binders, helping students shop at the motivation station, and playing educational games during transition time. He currently is in Grade 3 and loves doing Math, spelling, robotics, and coding. When Ansh isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him playing board games, listening to music, and playing with his cars.
Alexander
Teacher /STEM instructor
Alex is a teacher who creates an inclusive, upbeat, and encouraging learning environment for students to help grow confidence and self-esteem. He strives to help students overcome obstacles in learning to achieve long-term success! He also has a specialty for French language arts. He received his Bachelors of Science and Masters of Education in 2017 and went on to pursue his Bachelor of Education at University of Ottawa. Outside of the classroom, you can find Alex golfing, skiing, fishing, and coaching hockey
Catherine
Teacher
Catherine is a teacher who aims to create an inclusive environment for her students, her goal is to show students the fun in every lesson. Catherine graduated from the Carleton University with a Bachelors of Arts. Catherine enjoys teaching French, English and Elementary Math. When Catherine isn’t at Sylvan she is swimming, reading, or playing board games.
Kero
Teacher
Kero likes to take a kind and patient approach with his students and aims to explain learning material in a clear and concise manner. He finds joy in helping students to succeed and strives to meet the needs of students who are struggling. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Ottawa and a Master of Science in Biostatistics from Queen’s University. When he’s not at Sylvan, you’ll find him looking for patterns in data, playing video games, or running.
Rachel
Teacher /STEM instructor
Rachel is a teacher who aims to create a fun, inclusive environment for her students, her goal is to show students the fun in every lesson. Rachel graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelors’s in International Development and Globalization and went on to pursue her Bachelors’s of Education from the University of Ottawa. Rachel enjoys working with students to help build self-confidence and excitement for learning. When Rachel isn’t at Sylvan she is running, cooking, or playing with her dog.
Anisa
Teacher
Anisa is a teacher that works to promote real life connections to what students are learning about in school. She currently holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa and has returned to complete a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa. She has a passion for teaching science and math and helps make these topics more approachable to her students, improving confidence in the topics. Outside of Sylvan, Anisa likes to play badminton, swim, and paint.
Barbara
Teacher
Barbara is a teacher who takes the initiative to make learning as fun as possible and strives to find different methods to make the best of her students learning. She enjoys working with primary to intermediate students. She has been a part of the early childhood sector for over 25 years. Barbara holds a diploma in Early Childhood Education, an undergraduate degree in Child Studies from Carleton University, and a Master of Education degree with a focus in teaching and pedagogy. When Barbara isn’t at Sylvan you’ll find her spending time in nature, hiking in Gatineau Park, reading non-fiction and ballroom dancing.
Alec
Teacher
Alec is a teacher who takes initiative to make learning fun. He graduated with Bachelor’s honors cum laude and pursued a Masters in Political Science. He loves teaching Political Science, History, Math and English. When teaching, Alec utilizes his experience and training to better connect with his students and enhance their learning progress. Alec is a licensed Pilot who enjoys reading history articles, and playing golf and hockey.
Stefano
Teacher
Stefano is a teacher who has a passion for learning and being able to help students discover their academic potential through patience and encouragement. He thrives to create an inclusive, upbeat, and encouraging learning environment for students to help grow their confidence and self-esteem. He holds a Bachelor and Masters from Carleton University. Stefano loves teaching Math and Reading, along with French language. When not at work, he loves cooking, playing soccer and loves travelling around the world.
Cameron
Teacher
Cameron is a teacher who aims to make learning fun and attainable. Through a positive and encouraging outlook, he hopes that students feel comfortable and ready to take on new challenges at his table. He is a gold medalist, he completed his Bachelors in Bio Chemistry from queen’s University and went on to pursue a Masters in Immunology. Cameron wants to be a Doctor one day! He loves spending time with his friends, and loves skiing and playing hockey.
