Our tutors and staff in West Winnipeg consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in West Winnipeg know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Les
Centre Owner
Les has been an accountant for over 40 years with his own practice in South Africa. He emigrated to Canada in December 2017 with his family. Les is very excited to be a part of Sylvan Learning Centre of North and West Winnipeg. His favourite thing about working at Sylvan is making a positive impact on both students’ and parents’ lives. In his free time Les enjoys watching live concerts and music, and collecting watches, LP records, CDs, and DVDs.

Stefan
Centre Administrator
Stefan Froese has been with Sylvan Learning of Winnipeg since 2021, though he tutored for the North Winnipeg location back in 2017. He recently completed his Master of Arts at CMU, and serves the administrative needs of Sylvan Learning customers and staff- Stefan loves a good spreadsheet! In his free time, Stefan enjoys watching sumo wrestling and spending time with his wife and daughters.

Jessica
Supervising Director
Jessica serves as the Supervising Director at Sylvan Learning, overseeing the educational excellence of our programs at both the Kenaston and Henderson locations. Since joining Sylvan Learning Winnipeg in early 2023, Jessica has brought her expertise as a qualified Foundation Phase Teacher from South Africa to our team.Her favorite part of working at Sylvan is witnessing the transformation in students as their confidence grows through mastering concepts they once found challenging. Outside of work, Jessica enjoys exploring Winnipeg’s vibrant community and spending quality time with her friends and family.

Isla
Federal Funding Applications Clerk
Isla has been a part of the Sylvan team since August 2023 providing advocacy and application support for indigenous students through Jordan’s Principle as well as other federally funded programs. As an avid learner herself, she feels passionate about making educational support available to all students. Isla is always up for learning something new, whether professionally or recreationally. She loves board games and enjoys spending her free time creating, whether writing music on her guitar, doodling in a nearby park, or trying new recipes at home.
