Polly F., BA, B Ed

Center Director

As Centre Director, Polly oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in Lethbridge.  An experienced teacher from EPSB, Polly brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of Lethbridge.  She graduated from the University of Calgary and has been with Sylvan since 2005.  Her favourite past time is family time.  Other hobbies include, tennis, hiking, baking, reading and gardening.

Nancy W., B Ed, M Ed

Instructional Manager

Nancy joined Sylvan in Lethbridge in 2010.  She has a gift for working with children and enjoys teaching students from kindergarten to adult.  Nancy has many strategies up her sleeve, and she loves sharing these with students to help them become successful and confident. She studied at the University of Calgary, and the University of Lethbridge.  When she isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her hiking in the mountains.

Margaret R.,B.Ed., MLIS

Instructor

Margaret has experience teaching children and adults working at Immanual Chrisitan School and the University of Lethbridge. Margaret cares about each and every student and she provides strategies to help students learn and study. She tutors Math, Writing, and Reading at Sylvan in Lethbridge.  Margaret is also knowledgeable in Social Studies 10, 20,  English 10, 20, and Math 9, 10.  Margaret has assisted many of our Homework Support students to achieve success in these subjects.

KARI K, B.Ed

INSTRUCTOR

Kari graduated from the University of Alberta with a Major in Elementary Education.  She has a gift for motivating students of all ages.  Kari has a good sense of humour and she develops good rapport with her students.  She volunteered for the Girl Guides for many years, and enjoys playing soccer.

Raenna D., B Ed, BA

Raeanna  loves tutoring elementary students with their individual learning styles.  At Sylvan Lethbridge she also teaches Handwriting Without Tears. It is a hands on fun and effective way to learn cursive or printing skills.

Tamara M, B.Ed

Instructor

Tamara obtained her Bachelor of Education from the University of Lethbridge. She is passionate about helping children achieve their potential. She enjoys tutoring students in Social Studies 30  and at Sylvan Lethbridge also teaches Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, Math and Writing. She is gifted at working with students with ADHD, ODD and other learning challenges.

Alea S., BFA, B.Ed.

Instructor

Alea is a caring teacher, with experience teaching students of all ages.  She has a cheery and enthusiastic perspective on learning and builds rapport with students quickly.  At Sylvan she teaches Reading, Math, Writing, Language Arts and Social Studies.  She pays close attention to detail and is creative and imaginative.

Charlene is an experienced school teacher from Brooks, Alberta.  She is personable and enthusiastic about teaching her students.  At Sylvan, Charlene teaches elementary to high school age students in our Sylvan Reading, Writing and Math programs.  Charlene is particularly knowledgeable with  the Alberta Curriculum in English Language Arts 9, 10, 20.

Cody is a Science and Math instructor at Sylvan Lethbridge.  Cody is working towards his Bachelor of Education degree. He teaches high school Sciences including Chemistry,  Physics, and  Biology. Cody also teaches our Sylvan Sync Math programs and Math 9, 10.  Cody is a caring and personable teacher.  He is very good at breaking down concepts to help students develop a stronger understanding of the process and become confident and resourceful learners.  In his spare time, Cody enjoys backpacking, hiking, mountain climbing, and playing/coaching volleyball.

Tami joins our Sylvan Lethbridge team with a wealth of teaching experience.  She is passionate about learning and she teaches students of all ages in Reading, Writing, and Math.  During her weekends and summers, Tami loves traveling to the mountains nearby and visiting family and friends, afar.
