We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Kevin Mohabir
Tutor
Kevin has worked with Sylvan since 2012, starting at the Spruce Grove Centre and most recently in North Edmonton. He is a graduate of the University of Alberta, where he earned Bachelor’s Degrees in both Science and Education. Kevin specializes in tutoring High School Sciences and Math, but also enjoys teaching younger students. While he hopes to continue his teaching career, Kevin volunteers with local festivals and is active in several writing and game design projects in his free time.

Anthony Ciocchetto
Head Teacher
Tony is the head teacher at North Edmonton Sylvan, and has been working there for just over 2 years. His focus is on Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, but has many years of practice with reading and writing skills as well. He is currently taking the Bachelor of Education After Degree at the University of Alberta.

Sureya Sherif
Teacher
Sureya is a dedicated tutor and current Bachelor of Education student at the University of Alberta majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Mathematics. She specializes in tutoring High School Sciences and Math but also enjoys teaching English and working with a wide range of age groups. Beyond academics, Sureya is an enthusiastic badminton player, a committed volunteer, and also enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Misk Al Fadli
Director
At Sylvan, Misk manages the day-to-day operations of the centre. Everything from scheduling and supporting families to coordinating tutors and ensuring things run smoothly behind the scenes. What drew her to Sylvan was its mission to make learning personal and empowering for each student. She loves being part of a team that genuinely cares about student growth, not just academically but in their confidence and mindset too. It’s rewarding to know that the work we do helps create a space where kids feel supported, challenged, and capable.

Moath Yousef
Tutor
Equipped with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a leading U.S. institution, Moath Yousef brings a rare fusion of academic mastery, engineering innovation, and communication excellence to Sylvan. With over a decade of experience teaching advanced mathematics, physics, and university-level engineering, he is known for transforming complex theories into powerful learning moments. His students don’t just improve — they evolve into confident, analytical thinkers prepared for the demands of modern academia and industry.
In addition to his STEM expertise, Mr. Yousef is highly accomplished in reading and writing instruction. He has authored and published scholarly articles in respected academic journals, demonstrating a command of critical thinking, argumentation, and advanced communication — skills he now passes on to his students.
Outside the classroom, he designs cutting-edge educational technologies — from motion solvers to simulation tools — that bridge textbook theory with real-world application. His teaching philosophy blends precision, mentorship, and vision, making him a sought-after guide for high-achieving learners and future engineers.

Bushra Nusaibah
Teacher
Bushra is a passionate and supportive tutor who brings a strong academic background and a love for learning to Sylvan Learning Center. She is a recent Bachelor of Science graduate in Computer Science from the University of Alberta. She specializes in tutoring Math and Science and enjoys helping students build strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Bushra also enjoys working with younger children, helping them develop their reading and writing skills, and supporting them in pursuing their passions through learning. Outside of tutoring, she enjoys coding, baking, playing volleyball, volunteering, and spending quality time with friends and family.
